#imapiece

Now, embroidery isn't really my thing, but I thought I'd give it a go for this project that I blogged about here.

Considering I wouldn't consider myself good at this craft, I actually think I did quite well.
Here's what I came up with..

(Partly) Finished project: Roses!

I suppose these are just in time for valentine's day.
What do you think of it?

Pretty flowers!

I got a lovely milk jug from my Mum from Christmas because she knows I love them...
Thing is.. I don't really need one
My milk is happy to stay in the bottle I buy it in
After a couple of months though, I've finally used it for decoration
(Other than it just being sat on my dining table)

I filled it with some cheap silk flowers!
I think they look gorgeous (especially as the ones I've used cost 99p - and I still have a few more.. in total they cost me £1.98)

NOTW: Neon pink!

The difference between one coat and two!
Just had to photograph it (well.. get Tom to) as I went along!
The day after I applied this I was so glad I did.. there was very little colour to my outfit so seeing my bright nails just cheered me up!
This polish is by hoof hands (best known for their solution to prevent nail biting) and came in a gift set a few years ago
I think this is the first time I've worn it but I love it!
It also comes in a super cute, tiny bottle (4ml) which I love
I like to have lots of different colour varnishes but I know I'm never going to use them all up, so... the tiny bottle is perfect for me!

Look what's arrived.. December made it prize!

And now that it's here.. I don't know what I'm going to make with it!
The yarn seems like such good quality though!
Don't think I've actually used yarn with wool in it yet..
Now I can!
(Yes, I'm cheap and usually use 100% acrylic yarn..)

WIP: Rose number 2!

Here is the second rose!
This time, I realised that I'd incorrectly followed the pattern on my first attempt.. Oops!
So this one is much more like the pattern expects.
I also added a little bead, sewn into the middle, which makes it a bit classier, in my opinion :)
Can't wait to make enough for the project to come together!

NOTW: blue with fur-effect accent

This is one coat of barry m in cobalt blue.
I still have it on now (6 days after putting it on) and it still only has one chipped nail!
Pretty good going for only one coat with no top coat in my opinion.
The accent nail uses my fur-effect polish.
I painted on the two lines with a pale pink nail art brush then put the fur-effect on to that.

Look what came in the post!

My #imapiece kit!

 With this craftivist-collective postcard.
"Hey Kayleigh :) Thanks for getting involved. I hope you like the kit. Please post your installation piece to me by 21st Feb at the address on the envelope with the feedback form and petition. Have fun doing your crafty activisim! From Sarah x P.S I hope you like the sticker"
 The sticker Sarah mentioned.

And my puzzle piece.. it's double sided so I can choose my favourite fabric!
I first heard of this campaign on Mrs M's blog, here.
I decided it was something I was interested in, and had a look at www.craftivist-collective.com
They actually sell kits to help you complete the campaign, and that's what I have here!
I'm also hoping to get a few people together, so that we can do this together.
Obviously I need to get a wriggle on with the stitch-in because of the deadline to get the pieces back though!
