Finished project: Big red heart!

Awkward photo of me holding the heart there so you can get an idea of the size.
I have a few ideas whizzing around my head at the moment and I'm just trying some of them out.
This was one of them.
I came across it using stumble upon, which gave me a link to the pattern from a page I've actually used before
The pattern itself can be found here.
It gives 3 different size options, this is the large, and I've recently finished making the small one :)

NOTW: My first Essie

I tend to only paint my nails once a week, so NOTW rather than NOTD.
I got this polish for Christmas and its called "Bikini so teeny".
I have other similar nail polishes, but they're all slightly different.
This is probably most similar to my Barry M Gelly Nails "Blueberry".
The difference between the polishes though, is Bikini so teeny has tiny flecks of sparkle in, rather than the solid colour of the Blueberry.
Like I said, this is my first Essie polish, and I have to say, I'm impressed. I kept it on my nails for 8 days, I think, (without a top coat) and that's when the above pictures were taken.
As you can see, it had started to chip, but nothing too major.
I used 2 thin coats, they both dried quickly and the brush in the polish was great to use, so it was easy to apply too!
The only thing I will say, is it took me longer than usual to remove the polish.
I don't know if it's because I'm used to only wearing one coat of polish, or if the formula is a little more hard wearing than my "cheaper" polishes, but there we go.
I will keep an eye out for any other colours that I like that are on offers, but I don't think I'm allowed too many more polishes..

Finished project: Beegu

This little thing is based on a children's book: "Beegu" about a little yellow alien.

Picture taken from amazon.co.uk

He is a gift for one of my mum's friends and I've been told that he loves him!
The pattern was (slightly) adapted from a pattern on ravelry.

Finished project: Plum snood!

I finished my snood on Friday!
What do you think?
I think I got a bit confused about which row I was on, so I might not have followed the pattern exactly, but I still think it looks good :)
I used an 8mm hook and some yarn I picked up in "The Works" for £1.25 (and I still have some left over!)

Christmas made it: The winner

I've just been happily reading Woolhogs post about her time away with her family, and the Christmas made it challenge.
I was scrolling down, almost forgetting that she was about to announce this month's winner, then I scroll a little further an find a huge picture of my face!
I've won!
I'm so happy :)
Thank you again to Woolhogs for organising this competition every month.. I think I've only missed one and always enjoy seeing what everyone else has made :)

I hope they don't mind me using this picture.. but this is what I've won :)

WIP: Plum coloured cowl

I told you I'd have to get some more of that gorgeous colour from my yarn pack!
Now this isn't quite the same colour, but it's pretty close and I'm happy to say that I'm actually making this cowl for myself!
I can't wait for it to be a bit bigger so I can wear it to work to brighten up my mornings :)
The pattern for this cowl can be found here.

WIP: Cushion number 2

I couldn't decide which picture to use here.. so I've used both.
The first one shows the stitches better, but the second shows the colours.
Again I've gone to Lucy's Attic 24 for her join as you go technique, which I love.
It gives a much smoother finish than the last cushion I did, and it's more fun crocheting the squares together, rather than stitching them all!
