Coral crush

I have now worn my other Miss Sporty nail polish and have to say, this one impress me more than the last.

Here are the swatches of Coral Crush.

The formula of this polish was much nicer, less "gloopy" than Popcorn was.
It only took 2 coats for me to be happy with this one.
It lasted well for 6/7 days (without a top coat) and started to chip on the very last day of wearing them.
I'm starting to believe though, that this may not just be down to the formula, having been asked this week how I stop my polish from chipping!
Honestly.. I don't know, but polish always seems to last well on my nails. I guess I'm just lucky there!

NOTW: Gelly nails and crackle

I'm not sure what made me realise, but I haven't worn my crackle top-coat for ages.
Its not the best one in the world, but it was from poundland, so I can't really complain!
It seems to have gone a bit sticky, and it's probably just been sat on a shelf somewhere for too long.
I love this colour, barry m gelly nails in blueberry (available here for £3.99)
I seem to just want to wear pastel colours at the moment!
I think I need to raid my stash and see how many I have... I might have to treat myself to more!
The wear of this look disappointed me a bit
I wore the combination (without a topcoat) and it had chipped - as you can see in the picture, by the third day of wear
This is quite unusual for me, so I changed it quick!
You'll see what I have on at the moment in the next few days! :)

NOTW: blue with fur-effect accent

This is one coat of barry m in cobalt blue.
I still have it on now (6 days after putting it on) and it still only has one chipped nail!
Pretty good going for only one coat with no top coat in my opinion.
The accent nail uses my fur-effect polish.
I painted on the two lines with a pale pink nail art brush then put the fur-effect on to that.

I saw this nail effect product when browsing MUA's products for a new lipstick it sounded interesting, and as I'd never seen anything like it, it intrigued me.
Next time I popped into town I picked it up, along with a new polish to wear it with and the whole nail look only cost £3 (I rarely use base or top coats).

Here's how I used it:
  • I put a coat of the colour on all my nails and allowed to dry completely.
  • Then I put a second coat on all the nails bar my ring fingers on each hand
  • When my nails were completely dry I put my second coat of polish on my ring fingers
  • Whilst the polish was wet I put my nail into the fur-effect, and rolled it around a little
  •
I gave the nails about a minute or so before gently brushing with a face brush to remove any excess powder on my fingers.

The nail feels a little like velvet.
It gets wet when you wash your hands etc. and takes about a minute to dry out again but seems to wash fine!

I can't wait to try this effect with a darker polish underneath and create a pattern with my nail art sets to attach the fur to!

What do you think of this new effect? Would you give it a go?

This gorgeous colour was from Tom for Christmas.
It's called violet metal and I used 2 thin coats.
On Saturday I also added  a matte top coat which I'm still wearing now.
I've been wearing this for about a week and only one nail has chipped so far :)

NOTW: My first Essie

I tend to only paint my nails once a week, so NOTW rather than NOTD.
I got this polish for Christmas and its called "Bikini so teeny".
I have other similar nail polishes, but they're all slightly different.
This is probably most similar to my Barry M Gelly Nails "Blueberry".
The difference between the polishes though, is Bikini so teeny has tiny flecks of sparkle in, rather than the solid colour of the Blueberry.
Like I said, this is my first Essie polish, and I have to say, I'm impressed. I kept it on my nails for 8 days, I think, (without a top coat) and that's when the above pictures were taken.
As you can see, it had started to chip, but nothing too major.
I used 2 thin coats, they both dried quickly and the brush in the polish was great to use, so it was easy to apply too!
The only thing I will say, is it took me longer than usual to remove the polish.
I don't know if it's because I'm used to only wearing one coat of polish, or if the formula is a little more hard wearing than my "cheaper" polishes, but there we go.
I will keep an eye out for any other colours that I like that are on offers, but I don't think I'm allowed too many more polishes..
