Finished project: Plum snood!

I finished my snood on Friday!
What do you think?
I think I got a bit confused about which row I was on, so I might not have followed the pattern exactly, but I still think it looks good :)
I used an 8mm hook and some yarn I picked up in "The Works" for £1.25 (and I still have some left over!)

Christmas made it: The winner

I've just been happily reading Woolhogs post about her time away with her family, and the Christmas made it challenge.
I was scrolling down, almost forgetting that she was about to announce this month's winner, then I scroll a little further an find a huge picture of my face!
I've won!
I'm so happy :)
Thank you again to Woolhogs for organising this competition every month.. I think I've only missed one and always enjoy seeing what everyone else has made :)

I hope they don't mind me using this picture.. but this is what I've won :)

WIP: Plum coloured cowl

I told you I'd have to get some more of that gorgeous colour from my yarn pack!
Now this isn't quite the same colour, but it's pretty close and I'm happy to say that I'm actually making this cowl for myself!
I can't wait for it to be a bit bigger so I can wear it to work to brighten up my mornings :)
The pattern for this cowl can be found here.

WIP: Cushion number 2

I couldn't decide which picture to use here.. so I've used both.
The first one shows the stitches better, but the second shows the colours.
Again I've gone to Lucy's Attic 24 for her join as you go technique, which I love.
It gives a much smoother finish than the last cushion I did, and it's more fun crocheting the squares together, rather than stitching them all!

WIP: hexagon blanket

I found the pattern for these lovely hexagons on Lucy's blog Attic 24.
They looked so lovely I had to try them so hopefully this will get done sometime soon :)
The join as you go method was a little tricky at first, trying to get round all those corners!
I soon got the hang of it though.
Let's hope that green lasts me long enough..

WIP: Baby blanket

I posted the top picture the other day when I wrote about my lovely new yarn pack.
This has got another round of the plummy colour on it now, but the second picture is close to where it is now.
And, the final picture just makes all the colours look lovely :)

Christmas cushions

I got given some lovely Christmas charm squares for free in a little fabric shop in a nearby village sometime over summer.
We went in looked around and the shop owner gave these to me as she said she loves to encourage young people to sew.
I think I was given 13 squares and so far I've used 4 of them to make 2 of these little cushions.
They fit in the palm of my hand and I've had one of them sat in my Christmas tree as a decoration this year. Hopefully I'll be able to gift them next year.. maybe I'll even find some dried lavender to fill them with :)
